NEW AD: On His 30th Year In Congress, Constituents are Calling on Congressman Calvert to Not Increase Costs for Californians

California, January 11, 2024  – Today, Lower Costs California released a new ad as a part of its multi-million paid media campaign, targeted to tell Congressman Ken Calvert to stop taking votes that would increase the cost of living for working Californians. Over his 30 years in Congress, Rep. Calvert has repeatedly voted to make massive cuts to things Californians depend on, voted against the Inflation Reduction Act, and prioritized wealthy and large corporations.  

The ad features Tim, a retired steel distribution worker who has prepared for retirement over 40 years, he discusses how Representative Ken Calvert’s policy decisions have affected his daily life, including voting to cut Medicare, which Tim relies on.

"Republicans, like Congressman Ken Calvert, continue to view healthcare as a privilege for those who can afford it, instead of a human right. As a senior, their rhetoric that Social Security and Medicare can only be saved by reductions in my benefits, instead of proper funding and cost-savings, scares me,” remarked Tim. “Calvert voted against the Inflation Reduction Act, which allows Medicare to negotiate for lower drug prices–saving Medicare millions and capping what seniors pay for prescription medications!"

my money and did what I was supposed to

do I was a republican I found out

Congressman Ken Calvert would make it

harder for retired folks than everyone
